“SLEEP, GIRLS, SLEEP!”
Although many young women do not realise it, the legendary “ beauty sleep ”is more of a reality than a myth, for if a woman does not spend at least seven hours every night in the arms of Morpheus she cannot expect to maintain the healthful condition she should.
Lack of sleep robs women of their naturkl beauty, and very often makes their eyes bleary, their mind dazed, and their movements slow. Fatigue lines, which are very hard to get rid of. also appear, and this all affects the complexion and robs women of their natural poise and charm. Nancy Carroll believes that many girls become old before they are young through deficiency of sleep. She also thinks that it makes a person shorttempered with her daily companions, and very often cause the loss of lifelong friends. She frankly admits that if she did not keep early hours she would be impossible to live with. Miss Carroll gives the following advice as the greatest health and beauty builder in the world. She says 1 “ Sleep, girls, sleep! Sleep as long and as often as you can! ” The young Columbia star makes a practice of reading light fiction for half an hour before retiring, as she believes it takes the mind off the activities of the day, and gives it a chance to settle down to a good night’s rest.
