VISCOUNT GALWAY
VISIT TO VICTORIA < GUEST AT MANY FUNCTIONS MELBOURNE, Feb. 16. (Received Feb. 17, at 1.30 a.m.) The Governor-General of New Zealand, Viscount Galway, who is at present visiting Victoria, is the guest of the Governor, Lord Huntingfield. He was the guest of the Lord Mayor at the quarterly luncheon of the City Council on Friday, when he was warmly welcomed by the Premier, Mr A. A. Dunstan, who said he hoped many Australians would visit the New Zealand centenary in 1940. Viscount Galway spent the weekend as the guest of Sir Alan Currie, M.L.C., at his famous country home at Burrumbeet. On Monday he was the guest of the State Electricity Commission at Yallourn, inspecting the huge State electricity scheme which produces a large proportion of the State’s supply from a steamgenerating plant operated by the brown coal from adjacent_ mines. To-day, with Lord Huntingfield, Viscount Galway attended a luncheon tendered by the United Grand Lodge of Freemasons, and to-night was a guest at dinner at the Melbourne Club.
