WAGE TAX ON WOMEN

ABOLITION BY NATIONAL PARTY

MR A. HAMILTON’S PROMISE (Per United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., Jan. 30. -• Speaking to Manawatu farmers at Carnarvon on Saturday, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr A. Hamilton) stated that one of the first things the Nationalists proposed to do if returned was to abolish the wage tax on women. “.When the tax was imposed we thought we could help women, whereas to-day,” said Mr Hamilton, “there are few women who benefit, and, therefore, we intend to make a start in reducing taxation by relieving women of this tax.”
