We spent a glorious afternoon, ,iust lazing. We bathed, built castles, wrote our names in the sand, and chummed up with some little boys who gave us a row in their little green boats on the still waters of the creek. As usual, father could not entirely forget the farm, even for a day, and so he gathered shells for grit for his beloved fowls, and mother, remembering the hill we had to climb, was careful that no one should see her stowing away in Belinda's internals a syigar sack of sand for her flower garden.
