FUTURE OF RONGOTAI SPECIAL COMMITTEE'S REPORT (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. Jan. 6 The report is expected to be in the hands of the Government shortly of the Special Committee of Investigation set up in July to report on the future of the Rongotai Aero drome in Wellington as a terminal for overseas and internal air services. The Minister in Charge of Aviation (Mr F Jones), in an interview to-day said he expected to receive the report within the next two or three weeks. Exhaustive Inquiries have been made by the committee and very complete evidence taken. The appointment of the committee followed the re,lection by the ratepayers of the Wellington City Council’s loan proposal for improve ment work at Rongotai. Mr Jones at the time emphasised the importance of the Capital City of the Do minion being equipped with adequate airport facilities, sufficient to meet the needs of both internal and overseas, air traffic, not only in the immediate future, but also during the next 20 years.
