The Queen made the interesting admission recently to some intimate friends that she has never seen the Lord Mayor's Show, Neither had she ever seen a professional football match until she attended the final of the Football Association Cup at Wembley The interior of the Tower of London is likewise unknown to her Majesty, while she has not so far had an opportunity to explore thoroughly either Westminster , Abbey or St, Paul s. though she is likely to do so as soon as she can find the opportunity. In the*meantime (says an exchange), she is desirous that her daughters, shall become better acquainted with what may be termed “the everyday life of London “ than lias been possible for her. and she has also discussed the possibility of them witnessing the Lord Mayor’s Show, either from the Mansion House or some other convenient spot.

Queen Elizabeth has started to keep a diary since the opening of the present reign, and she now makes it a habit to enter up her impressions of such public events as she attends (says an exchange). Her notes upon the Coronation year, with its many engagements would make wonderfully interesting reading, and. if it is preserved, it is likely to be of no little value to the 1 istorian of the future Queen Victoria for very many years, kept a diary now carefully preserved in the Royal Archives at Windsor Castle, and much of this was published from lime to time under the title of “ Leaves from a Journal of Our Life In the Highlands.” Queen Elizabeth nas always been an excellent letter-writer, almost a lost art at the present time, so that her diary should be a vivid document indeed. At the same time her Majesty is making a collection of Coronation and other photographs that made special appeal to her, and this collection has already assumed some considerable size.
