COMPETITORS AND OFFICIALS SELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVE Final arrangements for the trial sports meeting to select suitable riders for an Otago representative team to compete at the New Zealand cycling championships at Christchurch on January 8 (which are the finals for the track team to represent the Dominion at Sydney in February) were made by the Otago Amateur Cycling Association at a recent meeting. The following officials were appointed:—Superintendent. Mr F n. Greenfield; referee, Mr H. W. Laws; starter. Mr H. R. Greenfield; timekeepers—Messrs S. N. Brown, P. Brady. ,J. Fletcher, and T. Gilchrist; judges— Messrs F. A. Johnston, A. Ocfcwell and H. Ockwell; marksmen, Messrs W. Chalmers, sen., and D. Fraser; announcer, Mr G. Sinclair; lap steward, Mr H. Annison; course stewards — Messrs D. Fraser, R. H. Greenfield, and S. Laws: press steward, Mr T. Faid; Protest Committee—Messrs F. H. Greenfield, H. W. Laws, J. A. Johnston, and S. N. Brown; selectors, Messrs G. Tuckey (Dunedin) and H Insall (Invercargill). The following will compete;— 1000 Metres Time Trial.—W. Frame, C. M. Hansen, W. Chalmers. J. Hornal, J. Henry. W. Sivertsen. R. Sivertsen. K. Jones, M, Harris. C. W. Robinson, 2nd A g 1000 Metres Sprint.—Preliminary heats: Henry v. Harris, Frame v. Hornal, Hansen v. Chalmers, W. Sivertsen v. Wilson-Pyne. Jones v. R. Sivertsen and Robinson. There will be two reselection heats of losers, leaving nine riders in the eighth final. Seven riders will he left in the quarter-finals, while the number will be further reduced to five for the semi-final. There will be three riders in the finals, one of them drawing a bye, and the _ loser of the first match meeting the rider with the bye. The winner of this latter match will then meet the winner of the first match for the final. Ten Miles Paced.—W. Frame, C. Hansen. W Chalmers. J. Henry. R. Wilson-Pyne. K. Jones M Harris. C.' W. Half-mile and Five Milo Paced. —L. Shand, K. Denton, D. Tillyshort. J. McConnell. R. Muir. The first event (the time trial) will start at 1.45 n.m. while the last event (the ten miles senior) will start at 4.30 p.m, The team for Christchurch will be announced on Monday evening.
