AN ATTRACTIVE RECITAL

MISS MURIEL EAGAR’S PUPILS

To a large and appreciative audience in the Returned Soldiers’ Club, Miss Muriel Eagar presented her pupils in a musical and dramatic recital. It was a varied and interesting programme. Some excellent part singing was heard when the Waiati Ladies’ Choir and the Children’s Choir rendered separate and combined choruses. The choirs sang fluently, with well-shaded tone and good expression. Interesting solos and duets came from the pianoforte section, the work varying fx'om elementary to advanced grades. Some very promising performers came forward and the work showed every evidence of careful preparation. The vocal solos, and duets were well received, and attractive recitations added to the variety of the programme. Miss Eagar gave an excellent rendering of the “Waltz Song.” from Tom Jones, and in response to an encore sang “ Lullaby.” by Cyril Scott, in her usual artistic manner.

The performers were; Maureen Mills, Gloria Pools, Deserie Hillikcr, Jean Hall, Lucy Delaney. Harlow Weir, Valmai Gilmour. Donald. McFarlanc, Valerie Reid, Peggy Gaigcr, Maureen Keenan, Lily Foote, Gordon Mazey, Nancy Gilmour. Joyce Cameron, Doris Anderson. Betty Perks, Mary Delaney. Dulcie Cockerill. Kathleen Wilkie, and Misses Isabel Dakers, Vena Raines, Irene Badman, Irene Lyons.. Noni Clarke and Mavis Hall. The assistant accompanist was Miss Olive Morcton.
