WOMEN’S GOLF

ST. CLAIR CLUB’S CLOSING The closing day of the St. Clair Women’s Golf Club, at which the presentation of the major prizes won dux-ihg the past season was made, was held at the Corstorphine links. The winners were:—Club championship, Mrs G. Burnett; run-ner-up. Mrs D. McLean; McCarthy Junior Cup, Mrs W Read; run-ner-up, Mrs Paul; Schoen Cup, Mrs McEwan; Wight Memorial Cup, Mrs Wight (mid-week); Wight Memorial Cup, Miss Clark (week-end); L.G.U. silver medal (for the year), Mrs McEwan; L.G.U. bronze medal (for the year), Mrs A. Smellie; continuous ringer, A grade. Mrs McLean; continuous ringer, B grade, Mrs Forsythe; two best net scores in qualifying rounds of championship, Mrs St. George. The following are the results of the day’s play;—Morning round: A grade L.G.U. medal, Mrs Burnett; B grade L.G.U. medal Mrs A. Smellie. Afternoon: Four-ball bogey (Stableford), Mrs Watt and Mrs McEwan; putting, Mrs McLean and Mrs W. T. Smellie. A special prize for the best gross score returned over the new course by a B grade player went to Mrs Forsythe, with 102.
