Dealing with totalisator returns at Forbury Park, a correspondent says: “The figures for the spring meetings for the past five seasons are as follows:
“At the spring meeting in 1936-37 the smallest field was nine, and at that time prices for primary products reached the peak and the workers had just received back wages This year wool was down 40 per cent., taIJ,QW down £l2 a ton, skins down 12s each, and hides down 13s each There were also seven races with under nine starters.
