OIL STORE WORKERS
DOMINION AWARD SOUGHT CASE BEFORE THE COURT (Peh United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 30. All-round increases in wages for oil store employees were sought in an application for a Dominion award in the Second Court of Arbitration by the New Zealand Federated Storemen and Packers' Union. Mr Justice Hunter presided, with his associates, Messrs W. E. Anderson and A. W. Croskery. Mr W. J. Mountjoy, of Wellington, appeared for the employers, while the union was represented by Mr W. Brotherton, of Sydney (Fedsral secretary of the Australian Storemen and Packers' Union); Mr W. Miller, of Wellington, (secretary of the New Zealand Storemen and Packers' Federation): and Mr W. Herbert, of Dunedin (secretary of the Otago and Southland Union) The hearing is expected to last for two days. At present oil store employees are working under the terms of an award which expired about a year ago. They were first granted a Dominion award in 1925.
