The twin-engined D.H. Comet in which the New Zealand aviator, Flying-officer Clouston, and Mrs Kirby-Green set a new record for the flight from London to Capetown. This is the machine which carried the winners in the Centenary Air Race, and which was also flown in the Damascus race.

The present bridge at Malvern street is to be replaced by a modern ferro-concrete structure at a cost of £BOOO. This picture shows the water swirling around the bridge during the 1929 flood.
Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret Rose recently attended the christening of the infant son of Mr and Mrs J. L. Wills in London. The baby’s mother is the daughter of Lady Elphinstone, the Queen’s eldest sister.
