WEDDINGS
Annandale— Coleclough On September 2, 1937, at Battle, England, Captain Bethune L, son of Mrs Annandale, of Edinburgh, was married to Mabel C., eldest daughter of Mrs Coleclough, of Bexhill, now living at Arcachon, Gironde, France. Mrs Annandale will be remembered by Dunedin people, especially those living in Roslyn, because of her work as “ Sister Mabel” with Bishop Fitchett (then Archdeacon Fitchett), and also because of her beautifully-illustrated books on flowers. Her husband’s father was the late Thomas Annandale, regius professor of surgery at the Edinburgh University. Captain Annandale himself is an officer of the Royal Scots, and with- his wife is now living in Arcachon, on the south-west coast of France, where he is engaged in writing his autobiography. Bush—Beach A wedding of Otago and North Otago Interest was solemnised recently, when Hazel Edwarda Beach, only daughter of Mrs F. Beach, now of Wellington but formerly of Oamaru, was married to Ernest Edward Bush, eldest son of the Rev. E. F. and Mrs Bush, of Granity. The bridegroom, now of Wellington, formerly taught in Central and in South Otago, and in Dunedin. The service was held in the Taranaki Street Methodist Church, Wellington, the Rev. P. R. Paris and the Rev. H. W. Newell being the officiating minissters, and Mr Alan H. White, friend of the bride and bridegroom, nlayed the wedding music. The bride entered the church with the Rev. A. Ashcroft, an ex-Oamaru minister, and was attended by Misses Elsie Bush and Hilda Sinclair, with little Barbara Hill acting as flower girl. The bride’s frock was of white lacquered cloque satin, with a cowl neck, high at the back, and white buttons to thfe waist. The maids’ and flower girl were attired in gold, with blue posies, and with blue headbands. Their frocks were cut on lines similar to that of the bride. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Harry E. Bush and Mr W. G. Holloway. Messrs L. Haggle and T. Lewis acted as ushers. During the signing of the register the organist played “The Childe Christ,” his own composition, written in Palestine. A reception was held later at the Civic Lounge, Wellington, where the guests were received by Mrs F. Beach and Mrs E. Bush. Mr and Mrs E.' E. Bush left later for the north, the bride’s travelling attire being a two-piece maroon suit, with white lace ruffle. Mr and Mrs Bush will reside in Wellington.
