THE BILLIARDS TITLE

BRITISH COMPETITORS , CHAMPION’S OPINION LONDON, Nov. 16. (Received Nov. 17, at 5.5 p.m.) Joe Davis, the English professional champion, does not favour Lindrum’s suggestion that British billiardists should go' to Australia and compete for the world title. He said: “When I went to Australia I was absent from England for seven months and finished on the wrong side financially. There is a vast difference between an English player going to Australia and an Australian going to England, but if the governing body in Australia indicates tht it would guarantee financial success for English visitors there would be something to start discussing.
