Each month Wellington uses more milk than the last, for not since the bad years of 1931 and 1932 have sales by the City Milk Department fallen. Last week the Milk Committee reported to the City Council that, excluding the milk supplied to the schools, milk sales in October averaged 5825 gallons daily, which was 330 gallons (or 6.06 per cent.) in excess of the sales for the corresponding month of the previous year. By the same comparison, cream sales showed an increase of 22.55 per cent. Milk sales to nearby farmers averaged 23 gallons daily, as compared with seven gallons for the corresponding month of the previous year. During October 22,477 gallons of milk were supplied to the schools. r „ It Talks: The shop front display tolls the story eloquently, but it is a fixture which attracts only the passers-by.
