COUNTRY WOMEN'S WEEK

YESTERDAY'S ACTIVITIES A full and interesting programme was enjoyed yesterday by the delegates to the Country Women's Week, the functions arranged providing them with a pleasing variety. In the morning the party visited the Dunedin Museum, where the curator (Mr H. D. Skinner) gave an interesting talk, illustrated with lantern slides, on museum work generally, and then in the Willi Fels Wing he gave an instructive address on Maori art. Later in the morning the party visited the Art Gallery, where Mr R H. Neilson gave a short talk on art.

Although the weather was cold and boisterous, an enjoyable afternoon was spent by the visitors as the guests of the Home Economics Association at the Botanic Gardens Mr D Tannock conducted them round the Gardens, and gave an instructive talk on gardening Mrs Riley, president of the association, welcomed the visitors and Mrs Orr Campbell gave a talk on forests in New Zealand and the need for treeplanting in country districts The president of the Otago branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers Union (Mrs W. Elliott) thanked the speakers and the association for an enjoyable afternoon. Last night the visitors were entertained by Miss F Ross and members of the Austral-Girton Club at a musical and literary evening.
