WOOL SHIPMENTS TO JAPAN

POSSIBILITY OF BOYCOTTING AN INNUENDO RESENTED (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Nov. 3. Government action to prevent the boycotting of wool shipments to Japan from the Dominion is sought by Mr L. S. S. Kyle (Opposition, Riccarton). in notice of a question to the Prime Minister (Mr Savage), which he gave this afternoon in the House of Representatives. Mr Kyle asked whether, in view of the embargo placed.on the exportation of scrap iron by the waterside workers, and "afterwards endorsed by the Government by Order-in-Council," the Prime Minister would state what action if any had been taken by the Government to ensure that shipments of wool bought by Japanese buyers will not be stopped. The question brought a protest from the Prime Minister. "The honourable member has definitely said that this Government endorsed certain actions of other people Is he entitled to affirm that the Government is doing that?" Mr Savage asked.

The Speaker: The Clerk of the House will look over the question and if necessary it will be looked over by me before being placed on the Order Paper. " It is a stupid question in any case." interjected the Prime Minister.
