RESIGNATION OF GUNNERS ALL EXCEPT THREE WITHDRAWN (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 28. Negotiations on behalf of the gunners of the Royal New Zealand Artillery who tendered their resignations on account of dissatisfaction with the present rates of pay are being conducted with the Government by Mr W. J. Lyon, M.P Arrangements have been made for Mr Lyon to meet the Minister of Finance (Mr W. Nash) and the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones). As the result of Mr Lyon's action all save three of the m'en have withdrawn their resignations, as it was thought that their former stand might hinder the negotiations. It was, however, stated by one of the gunners that it was possible that the resignations would again be handed in if some reasonable satisfaction were not obtained. "We have full confidence in Mr Lyon, who realised the difficulties and injustices which we have had to suffer, and we are anxiously hoping for an early settlement," he added. It was understood that there was a possibility of an increased schedule of wages being announced at an early date.
