Owing to the abnormal amount of routine business to be transacted, it was found impracticable to carry out the evening as scheduled in the handbook. A revival of interest by past officers was much in evidence at the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Milton. 22 being present. Smith as E.S., Bro. Woodhead as warden. Bro. Wills as guardian, and with Bros. McLean and Gibson acting as conductors, the conduct of business was of a high order. • Seven candidates presented themselves for initiation, all nominated by past officers, the ceremony being carried out right up to the best standard of efficiency. An invitation was accepted to attend the meeting of Loyal Victoria Lodge on November 27. Loyal Dalton intimated its intention of giving support to the projected past officers' degree meeting, a tentative date having been submitted to the District Executive. At the conclusion of business, those conducting the meeting entertained members socially. The full complement of district officers, together with the trustees of all city and suburban lodges, foregathered at the fortnightly meeting of Loyal Valley to assist in paying tribute to P.G. Bro. Jarvis presided over a good attendance of members, visitors, and women friends The presentation of a chiming clock was made by P.P.G.M. Bro. J. Robson, now senior trustee. Bro. Robson spoke at length of the services rendered by Bro. Millier throughout his 54 years of membership. Though this event was certainly another milestone in the life of the recipient, it was not by any means a parting. P.P.G.M Bros. John Wilson and P Young, P.G Bro Warren Johnstone, and others also spoke. Bro. Millier thanked the lodge for the gift and the speakers for their remarks During the evening items were rendered by Mrs Davies and Bro. J. Roberts. /
