BIG INCREASE IN STAKES (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 28. The programme for the Auckland Trotting Club's summer meeting provides for prize money totalling £8550, compared with £7060 last year The stake attached to the Auckland Trotting Cup is £ISOO. an increase of £SOO on 1936, while the limit is advanced from 4.28 to 4.25. making it one second tighter than the New Zealand Trotting Cup, and the fastest handicap race yet nlaced on a trotting programme in the Dominion. The stake for the Champion Handicap, the principal race on the second day, has been doubled to £IOOO, and the limit made 2.43. while the President's Handicap, on the last day, will have the same value, having been increased to £IOOO from £6OO. and the class advanced from 4.28 to 4.25.
