COMING-OF-AGE PARTY

On Friday last a successful twentyfirst birthday function took place in the Oddfellows' Hall, Nr.seby, the occasion being the twenty-first birthday of Miss Nada Jacob. About 150 guests arrived, and were received by Miss Jacob, assisted by her friend, Miss June Moore. Progressive euchre for those who did not dance was played in the supper, room. The women's prize was won by Mrs J. Hewitt and the men's by Mr Lobb, of Wedderburn. The hall was tastefully decorated in pink and white paper chain, greenery, and flowers. The popularity of the guest of honour was shown by the large and varied number present. After supper Mr T. C. Hore proposed the health of Miss Nada Jacob, and spoke of her many good qualities. Mr Haddon Jacob, on behalf of his sister, returned thanks for the many kind things said, and for the manner in which the toast had been received. Her sister, Miss M. Jacob, presented her with a golden key of the front door, after which Mr C. Dixon presented her with a silver key of the back door. Mr A. E. Brown, on behalf of the large gathering, thanked the Jacob family for inviting them to the party. Several songr were rendered during the evening by Misses B and V. Bremner -nd Messrs G. Bremner. W Behrens. and J McCormac Miss J Moore played the accompaniments, and also sang "Many Happy Returns of the Day." Dancing, which was enjoyed till the small hours of the morning, was conducted by Messrs C. Dixon and G. Graham.
