TWENTY-SEVEN WITHDRAWN CONDITIONS IN THE ARTILLERY (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Oct. 27. Twenty-seven of the gunners who resigned from their service at the Narrow Neck Barracks of the Royal New Zealand Artillery have withdrawn their resignations. This statement was made in an interview to-night by the Minister of Defence (Mr F. Jones). The Minister stated that only seven of ;he men who had tendered their resignations still held to that decision. He was sorry that the position had •risen, as the whole question of pay and conditions of the men concerned had been under consideration for some time. . '■' The intentions of the Government would be disclosed as soon as possible, Mr Jones said, but it was not going to allow itself to be stampeded into a decision.
