WEDDINGS

Preston —Kinross The wedding took place at Chalmers Presbyterian Church, Timaru, recently of Ivy Alice, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Kinross, of “Coldstream,” Southburn, and Percival Edward James, youngest son of Mr and Mrs M. Preston, of Springbrook. The bride wore a trained gown of ivory ring velvet, made with a high neckline and leg o’ mutton sleeves. Her embroidered veil, which was worn over the face, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. She was attended by her sister Jeane and Miss Helen Waddell, Southland, as bridesmaids. They wore cherry-red ring velvet frocks, made on the same lines as her own; and had halo headbands composed of silver leaves and red flowers. They carried sheaves of cherry-red tulips. Mr Lyonel Pye was best man, and Mr Robert Kinross groomsman. At the reception, which was held at the Caroline Bay Tea Rooms, Mrs Kinross wore a nigger brown suit and hat to match, and carried a posy of polyanthus, Mrs Preston wore a navy ensemble, with hat to tone, and had a bouquet composed of red anemones. When the happy couple left for the north the bride wore a navy tunicsuit, relieved with white, a navy Breton sailor hat, and navy accessories. Their future home will be at “ Valpre,” St. Andrews.
