BELLEKNOWES CLUB The annual competition for the President’s Cup was played yesterday on the Belleknowes links, and resulted in a win for E. J. Simpson, with 130, S. Boyd and S. Roberts being second equal, with 134. The best scores were:—E. J. Simpson 158—28—130, S. Roberts 164—80—134, S. Boyd 178—44 —134, M. Wilkinson 164—26—138, T. Koonan 186—48—138, A. Darling ISO--12—147, G. Bell 173—26—147. The winners of the trophies for the best gross scores were:—Morning round: A. Darling 75; runner-up, M. Wilkinson 82. Afternoon round: E. J. Simpson 75; runner-up, S. Roberts 81, ST. GLAIR CLUB The following is the result of the special 23-hole Stroke Handicap which was played on the St. Clair links on Saturday afternoon, under somewhat boisterous conditions, to mark the opening of the hew course. The annual competition for the Otatara Cup, consisting of two rounds of stroke play, was played yesterday under very windy conditions. J. C. Redward was the winner of the cup with an aggregate of 145 (90—16—74 and 87—16—71); followed by D. C. Bennie with 152 (77—1—76 and 771 — 76). The following were the best results:—J. C. The Mid-Canterbury Golf Chamionship was won by W. M. Satteriwaite, of Harewood, with a score r 147. S. Bryant, of Harewood, with score of 148. was the runner-up. The junior title was won by R. W. rr, of Ashburton with 159. E. Brophy id R. G. Ross, both of Ashburton, ed for runner-up with 164. MANAWATU CHAMPIONSHIP SILK THE WINNER Per United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., Oct 25., M. Silk won the Manawatu Golf npionship, beating K. G. Glendm- . of Manawatu, in an exciting final, had beaten H. G. Davies, of ier, and Glendinning beat N, H. in, of Rangitikei, in the semi-finals, ie Manawatd Plate was won by >, Homabrook, who beat F. W. gins, of Nelson, at the twentieth.
