TAIERI SWIMMING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The first annual meeting of the Taieri Swimming Club was held in Mosgiel this week and was well attended. The annual report contained the information that the swimming baths were practically complete. The Dunedin Centre had promised to co-operate in every reasonable way in assisting the club, particularly during its initial stages. The community had fixed the opening date of the baths for Saturday, November 27, when it was hoped to stage a good carnival. The report was adopted. A donation of the funds of the now extinct Ripple Swimming Club was made to the club. The following office-bearers were appointed:—Patron, Mr L. C. Hazlett; president, Mr W P. Hartstonge; senior vice-president, Mr A. Steven; secretary. Mr W N Muirhead; treasurer, Mr R. Frew; committee —Mrs Doig, Messrs R. Campbell, J. Thomson, B. A. Quelch, C. Lucas, W. P. Hartstonge and A. Steven; auditor, Mr Pilling: delegates to N.Z.A.S. Association (Dunedin Centre), Messrs Quelch and Lucas. Thirty vice-presidents were elected.
