MAHENO MOTOR SMASH ONE MAN SUCCUMBS (Special to Datly Times) OAMARU, Oct. 22. T Gages, who was injured in a motor accident at Maheno when returning to Dunedin from a boxing match at Oamaru, succumbed to his injuries this morning. The condition of P. Ruston, who was also injured in the accident, showed a slight improvement to-night. A FRACTURED ARM Martha Lyons, a middle-aged married woman, who resides at Roxburgh, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 6.45 p.m. yesterday suffering from a fractured right arm. She fell at her home. YOUNG BOY INJURED A young boy named Noel McLachlan, who resides at Bishop's road, suffered facial injuries and abrasions when he was knocked down by a motor cycle at Ravensbourne yesterday. He was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 4.30 p.m. INJURIES TO HAND Severe injuries to his right hand were suffered by Eric Anderson, who resides at 35 Normanby street, when one of his hands was caught in a planing machine at the factory of Messrs M'Callum and Co., Ltd., yesterday afternoon. He was admitted to the Public Hospital at 3.40. FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT INQUEST ON VICTIM (Per United Press Association) NAPIER, Oct. 22. A rider that there was not sufficient evidence to attribute blame to the driver of the motor car (Percy Lewis Ireland) was added to the verdict returned by the coroner at the resumed inquest into the death of Joseph Smith, aged 67, of Wellington, who was killed at Napier on October 5. as the result of being struck by the car. The verdict was that death was due to shock caused by multiple injuries through being struck by a car. FALL FROM TABLE Nancy Greenyer, a young girl, who resides with her parents at Waverley street, South Dunedin, was admitted to the Public Hospital at 8.45 p.m. yesterday suffering from a fracture of the right arm. She fell from a table at her home.
