BRIBERY PREVALENT

IN EASTERN TRADING BILL FOR SUPPRESSION SINGAPORE, Oct. 10. Bribery and secret commissions, which have been part and parcel ol Eastern trading for thousands of years, will disappear if a Bill to be introduced in the Colony Legislative Council is passed. The Bill, which is “ in the interests of commercial and public morality,” provides for a maximum punishment of seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of 5000 dollars.
