RETURNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION

MONTHLY LUNCHEON A brief but interesting address on the rules for the promotion and maintenance of health, with particular reference to physical culture for adolescents, was given by Mr D. S. Chisholm, the rector of the King's High School, at the monthly luncheon of members of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers' Association yesterday. He was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of Mr J. S. Skinner. The president (Mr C. L. Calvert) announced that it was proposed to conduct a series of monthly evening talks for the benefit of members of suburban associations and those who were unable to attend the mid-day luncheons, the first of these talks having been set down for November 9, when Mr J. D. A. Rutherford would sneak on " Samoa." A gift of a box of heather was received from Mr A. Stevenson, a former member of the association, who now lives in Lanarkshire, Scotland, and who each year sends a similar gift with the best wishes for the " health, wealth and prosperity of the members of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers' Association.
