DOMINION APPEAL DISMISSED LONDON, Oct. 18. The Privy Council dismissed the New Zealand appeal by the Municipality of Mount Albert v.,the Australasian Temperance and General Society. A FAR-REACHING EFFECT TWENTY-THREE LOCAL BODIES INVOLVED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 19. The decision of the Privy Council dismissing the appeal with reference to local bodies' loans affects 23 local bodies in New Zealand, debentures having been issued to lending societies for £1,185,000' at rates of interest varying from 5J to 6£ per cent. The Mount Albert Borough Council is concerned to the extent of £130,000 and the Auckland City Council to the extent of £99,000. DUNEDIN NOT AFFECTED The town clerk (Mr R. A. Johnston) stated yesterday afternoon that the Dunedin City Council is not included in the 23 municipalities referred to, and is, therefore not affected by the Privy Council's decision.
