THE PORT OF OTAGO

MONGOLIA TO BE SOLD The P. and O. Royal Mall liner Mongolia, which reached Sydney on September 30 from London, Is making her last voyage In the Australian service. It Is expected that she will be offered for sale on her return to London, and In view of the present heavy demand for scrap metal there is a possibility that she will be bought by the ship-breakers. She Is to be replaced by the new P. and O. liner Stratheden, which Is due on her maiden voyage early in the new year. Most of the Mongolia's crew will be transferred to her successor. The Mongolia Is an oil-burning turbine steamer of 1(1,000 tons, and was built for the Australian service by Armstrong, Whitworth and Co., Ltd., at Newcastle-on-Tync, In 1923.
