THE DUKE OF WINDSOR

RUMOUR ON THE CONTINENT SECRET VISIT TO ENGLAND LONDON, Oct. 17. It is rumoured on the Continent that the Duke of Windsor paid a brief secret visit to England. He arrived by air at a small aerodrome on the south coast and did not leave the cabin. He was visited by Queen Mary, who arrived in a closed car. The Sun-Referee, referring to the rumour, points out that the Duke of Windsor, on October 5, visited the Paris Exhibition, and that no news was published of his movements on October 6 and 7. Queen Mary, during this period, was staying with the Duke and Duchess of Athlone, near Horshaw, Sussex.
