FOURTEEN PERSONS FINED SEVERAL OTHERS REMANDED (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 18. Seven men, including a petty officer and a Royal Marine, were today fined £2 each, and seven young women £ 1 each, after pleading guilty to being found in a gaming house when it was raided by the police on Friday night. John Ellis, aged 30, a motor driver, charged with conducting the premises, was further remanded to November 1. Robert Varney, aged 28, a labourer, Patrick Francis Brennan, aged 25, a seaman, and Michael Alban Atkinson, aged 26, a steward, were charged with assisting in the management of the premises and were remanded to October 26.
