FORBURY PARK TROTTING CLUB
MR F. A. JARRETT APPOINTED JUDGE Mr F. A. Jarrett. of Christchurch, was appointed as judge of the Forbury Park Trotting Club at a meeting of the committee last night, the appointment being made to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr W. Rudkin. There were 10 applicants for the position. . , , Mr J. B. Wootton was re-appointed caterer for the season and the Waverley Boys’ Band was again hired to provide the music at the club’s meetings. CROMWELL JOCKEY CLUB (From Our Own Correspondent) CROMWELL, Oct. 18. The annual meeting of the Cromwell Jockey Club was held on Saturday evening. The president (Mr A. B. Pearson) was in the chair. The financial statement disclosed a credit balance of £345 Mr Pearson was unanimously re-elected president and Mi W Campbell secretary. After some discussion it was decided to increase, -he stakes by £IOO, raising the total stakes, apart from trophies, to £IOSO The club had a most successful meeting last season, the report stated, and indications are for a further attractive meeting next season on March 11 and 12.
