AVIATION

MISS JEAN BATTEN’S FLIGHT ATTACK ON THE SOLO RECORD SYDNEY, Oct. 11. Miss Jean Batten has not yet decided when she will leave. Her route will be the same as on her record-breaking flight from England to Australia a year ago. Leaving Darwin, she will fly to Koepang, Batavia, Akyab, Calcutta, Allahabad, Karachi. Bagdad, Cyprus, Rome and London. If she succeeds in beating Mr Broadbent’s record, she will be the first to hold the solo record in both directions at the same time.
