CITY COUNCIL

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING The fortnightly meeting- of the Dunedin City Council was held last night, the Mayor (the Rev. E. T. Cox) presiding. There were also present Crs M. Silverstone, W. Begg. W. A. Scott, A. H. Allen. W. H. Shepherd and D. C. Cameron. COMMITTEE REPORTS The reports of the Electric Power and Lighting, Tramways, Gas. Library, Reserves, General, Works, Water and Finance Committees were adopted without discussion. TENDERS The following tenders were accepted:—Supply and delivery of omnibus chassis, Leyland Motors, Ltd., at £1664 2s each. The question of a third chassis was held over Erection of houses under the Council’s housing scheme: —A. H Boyd, £1009; J. G. Mills, £956 10s: G. and S. Booth, £1093; W. Fleming. £992; L. H. Warren, £947; J Donaldson, £1040; G. and S. Booth. £ll6O.

Continuation of cancelled contract for motor trucks and drivers for Woodhaugh quarry, New Zealand Express Co., Ltd., 1J ton trucks 5s goods only, 5s Id goods and passengers; 2J ton trucks, 5s 6d goods only, 5s 7d goods and passengers; 3-ton trucks, 6s, goods only, 6s Id, goods and passengers.
