KIWI DEFENCE CLUB The members of the Kiwi Defence Rifle Club fired the second competition for the President’s Match and the Huntly Cup on Saturday afternoon. Shaw, Ashley, Henderson and Thomson all scored possibles at 500 yards, pickie, Thomson and Ashley headed the list at 600 yards with 34 each. The following are the scores:—D. DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot the return match between sides chosen by the president and the deputy president on Saturday apernoon. There was an attendance of 18, and seven shots (two optional sighters) were fired at 500 and 600 yards. Weather conditions were favourable. The best score at 500 yards was 33, made by W. Facer, A. G. Parker and R. M'Keich; and at 600 yards 33, by J A. Cowie, C. Gamble and R. M Keich. R. M'Keich headed the day’s aggregate with 66. Victory rested with the president’s side by one point. The following are the team scores:—President’s team: R. M'Keich 33—33—66, C. A. M'Nish 32—32—64, J. L. Benfell 31— 32—63, C. Gamble 29—33 —62, O. G. Miller 29—32—61, R. Leslie, sen., 31_28—59, W.
