POLICY OF ISOLATION
PEACE NOT ENSURED AN AMERICAN DECLARATION NEW YORK, Sept. 20. (Received Sept. 20, at 10 p.m.) Realisation of the futility of attempting to ensure peace for the United States by means of isolation was expressed by Mr Cordell Hull in a National Peace Confer-
ence international broadcast. “We must contribute conditions upon which peace everywhere can be maintained, or ultimately we must protect and sustain ourselves and a world ridden with war and force. The security of the United States would be seriously jeopardised if international anarchy replaced law.” ' Mr Mackenzie King, contributing a broadcast from Ottawa, said: “ The means for creating enduring peace exists in economic co-operation.”
