TRAMWAY TRAFFIC

DRAFT REGULATIONS FOR CONTROL DESIGNED FOR GREATER SAFETY (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 16. Draft regulations for the control of tramway traffic have been received in Auckland as the result of the conference held at Wellington several months ago between representatives of the tramway authorities and the employees throughout the Dominion. It is understood that the regulations contain many proposals which tramwaymen have advocated since 1910, when the Tramway Amendment Act was introduced. The principal clauses relate to more efficient headlights, the fitting of tramcars with windscreen wipers, and "protection of the drivers' vision against direct brilliant lighting, whether natural or artificial."
