MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

PORT CHALMERS CLUB At last Thursday’s shoot of the Port Chalmers Miniature Rifle Club a match, club captain’s team v. secretary’s team, was fired. The match resulted in a win for the secretary’s team by 11 points. The following were the scores:—Secretary’s—Matheson 76, Coleman 76, Harwood 75, Telfer 74, Morgan 69; total, 370. Captain’s— Olsen 75, Farquharson 75, Gibbs 73, Monti 71, M'Dowall 65; total, 359. In the ordinary practice shoot the president’s trophy was won by F. Gibbs, with a score of 79. RAILWAY CLUB In the Railway Club’s weekly competition there were seven in the shootoff, their scores being as follows: —A. Gillespie 78—2—80, R. Lawrie 80—3 —BO, Mrs Johnson 76—4—80, J. WOMEN’S RESERVE CLUB X

The usual weekly practice of the Women’s National Reserve Club was held at the Drill Hall on June 15. Mrs D. Esplin, with a score of 78, won the club’s rifle badge, whille Miss Beck was successful in winning the handicap button. Others scores were as follows: —Miss S. Cassells 76, Mrs R. Hay 76, Mrs Rathbone 76, Mrs Taylor 74, Miss A. Whyman 74, Mrs Bradley 73, Miss N. Knowles 73, Miss E. Whyman 72. Miss C. Cassells 72, Miss D. Woods 71. The B Grade match, L.N.R. y.
