IDEALS OF WOMANHOOD
TO THE EDITOR Sir—l would like to ask " Old Bill" and "I Wonder" the following questions:—Have they a mother? Have they a sister? Have they a wife arid daughters of their own? If so, would they like to see them parading around in the scanty attire which they seem to think is decent? If they saw the programme published for the Association football match would they have hked to see a photograph of their own kith and kin dressed the same as an illustration that was exhibited on the programme? If they have any love and respect at all I don't think they would, [f there were a bit more Early-Vic-torianism we would be assured of a clean, honest, and Christian generation, and there would be fewer registry office marriages, and no divorce bills, and we would have our future mothers bringing their children up in the good old pioneer style, and there would be none of this crying out about a falling birthrate.—l am. etc Early-Victorian.
