SHEEP DOG TRIALS

NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS SATURDAY'S EVENTS (Per United Press Association* BLENHEIM. June 20. New Zealand Championships in two events and one South Island Championship in one were decided at the sheep-dog trials which were continued here yesterday. Ideal weather favoured the fixture.

The results were as follows: SOUTH ISLAND HEADING, PULL AND YARDING EVENT

Also competed: Mr A. Gillanders's (Otago) Ben, 535; Mr R. J. Feen's (Dannevirke) Bet, 53 j; Mr E. Rutherford's (Waikari) Speed. 53; Mr R. M. Wilson's (Kirwee) Fly, 52J. NEW ZEALAND HEADING CHAMPIONSHIP Mr R. J. Wiffen's Bet 1 Mr W. Whyte's (Napier) Boy .. .. 2 Mr R. M. Wilson's Fly 3 YARDING CHAMPIONSHIP Mr W. Smyth's Queen 1 Mr R. J. Wiffen's Bet and Mr R. M. Wilson's Fly (equal) 2 The championship trophies for events so far decided have been awarded as follows:—J. R. Corrigan Memorial Shield, Mr R. J. Wifien; Commemoration Shield, Mr R. J. Wiffcn; Prosperity Shield, Mr J. M'Govenslen; T. D. M'Leod Memorial Cup, Mr R. J. Wiffcn; Lilico Trophy. Mr R. J. Wiffcn. • The trials will be continued tomorrow and on Tuesday, when the huntaway with slew event will be decided.
