OFFICIAL FORECAST FAIR TO CLOUDY The following is the official weather forecast:-r-An anti-cyclone extends from southeastern Australia on to New Zealand, but pressure is still low to the east, and an intense cyclonic depression is now located over the north-west portion of the Tasman Sea. Indications are for:— Winds.—Moderate to strong southerly to south-easterly, reaching gale force in some exposed positions on the east coast and about Cook Strait, backing to easterlies or north-easterlies later in the northern portion of the North Island. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Rather rough to rough south of East Cape and about Cook Strait, elsewhere slight to moderate, but later rising north of East Cape. Eastern Tasman Sea: Easterly to north-easterly winds in the northern portion, moderate at first, but shortly increasing, strong to gale force, with seas becoming rough; moderate to fresh southerly to south-easterly in the southern portion. Weather.—Some scattered showers in eastern and far southern coastal areas, otherwise weather fair to cloudy generally at first; cloud increasing shortly, however, in the northern and north-east-ern portions of the North Island, with rain gradually developing, and unsettled conditions and rain becoming fairly general within the next two days. Temperatures cold, but becoming milder shortly in the north. WEATHER IN DUNEDIN There was a strong, cold, south-west wind on Saturday and conditions generally were cold. The sun shone during the morning and for a short time in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 49 degrees. The wind moderated overnight, but there was still a cold breeze from the south-west yesterday. The sun shone for a good part of the day, however, and temperatures were milder. IN NORTHERN CENTRES (Special to Daily Times), AUCKLAND, June 20. Fine weather prevailed in Auckland during the week-end. Saturday morning was chilly, and there was a light southerly wind, but the day was fine with a blue sky and bright sunshine. There was a light shower early this morning but the day was fine, although the sky was dull and the atmosphere chilly. A south-westerly wind prevailed. WELLINGTON, June 20. The weather in Wellington yesterday was brilliantly fine, with a light northwesterly breeze. The early part of today was fine and calm, but a southerly breeze sprang up and the remainder of the day was cloudy and cold. CHRISTCHURCH, June 20.

Saturday was brilliantly fine and sunny, with a mild temperature, but to-day was very cold. The sky was heavily overcast, and a light drizzle fell much of the day. After the weekend the barometer rose to 30.14 in late in* the afternoon.
