WAITAKI FROM AUSTRALIA After loading at Melbourne on Juno 23 (he Waltakl will sail for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. Sim is expected to arrive here on Juno 20. MELBOURNE STAR DELAYED Owing to rain at Lyttelton, the Blue Star Line motor ship Melbourne Star has been delayed, and Is now expected to berth at Fort Chalmers to-morrow. CANADIAN CHALLENGER AWAY Having completed discharge at this port, the Canadian Challenger sailed early yesterday morning for New Caledonia, where site will load a part cargo of ore. She is later to complete at Auckland and Wellington, leaving the latter port finally on July 13 for New York, Boston and Montreal. VAN REES DESPATCHED W’ilh It passengers and mall and cargo, Ihc South Pacific Line steamer Van Rees sailed from Auckland at 9 o’clock on Monday night for Newcastle. After bunkering at Newcastle the Van Rees will call at Sydney and then sail tor Java and Singapore. AKAROA CLEARS COLON The Shaw, Sav 111 steamer Aknroa, according to cabled advice, cleared Colon on Sunday afternoon Homeward hound. She left Wellington on May 25 for Southampton and London, by way of Kingston. J.ilnmca. PORT BRISBANE AT LONDON The Port. Line has also had cabled advice that the Port Brisbane, which left Port Chalmers on May ti, reached London last Monday. RANGITIKI CLEARS BALBOA The New Zealand Shipping Company has had cabled advice that the Rangltlkl, which left London on May 24, cleared Balboa last Sunday. She Is due at Wellington on July 1, and will complete discharge at Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. She Is due at Dunedin on July 6. RADIO PROM WAIANA The Union Steam Ship Company has received K radio message from the new freighter Walana. outward bound from Barry, Males, advising that she expects to reach Auckland tomorrow. She brings cargo also for Wellington ami Dunedin, and is expected here about June 25. The Walana left Wales on April 14, and came by way of Port Said, Safaga, Aden and Colombo. She cleared the last-named port on Way 24.

PERSONAL At the first meeting following the triennial reconstitution- of the port of London Authority held on April 29 Lord Ritchie of Dundee was re-elected chairman for the ftflb successive period. Mr Thomas Wiles, P.C. was again elected vice-chairman. Lord Ritchie Is one of the original members of the Authority, having served as a member of the board since Its constitution In 1909, and during his 28 years of service has been vicechairman (1913-25), chairman of tho Law and Parliamentary Committee (1909-13). and chairman of the Finance Committee (1914-19). Lord Ritchie Is a lieutenant of the city of London, president of the Poplar Hospital for Accidents, and a member of the governing body of Westminster School. He served ns Mayor of Wlnchclsca In 1924 and 1931. Mr Wiles, who has been vice-chairman of tho Authority since 1934, was first elected a member of the board In 1923. He was a member of Parliament from 1909-18, and during this period was Parliamentary Secretary to Mr T. M’Klnnon Wood (Financial Secretary to the Treasury, ami afterwards Secretary for Scotland). In 1916 lie was sworn a member of H.M. Privy Council. Mr Wiles has served on the London County Council.
