TEST FLIGHT

WELLINGTON TO AUCKLAND

(Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 17

Preparations for the landing of the Union Airways plane on a test flight from Wellington at 3 o'clock *o-day were still proceeding at Mangere early this afternoon A large party of men from the Public Works Department was working all morning preparing a scoria runway from the landing field to the hangar. Owing to rain the partiallycompleted runway was somewhat of a quagmire, and there were doubts as to whether the large plane could be housed at Mangere to-night. The alternative plan was to take the machine to the military aerodrome at Hobsonville. However, early this afternoon the officials stated that, the runway would be completed in time for the reception of the plane at Mangere.
