The Australian Associated Press political correspondent learns that, as a result of the Imperial Conference and the international situation discussions, it has clearly emerged that Australia would on no account give up New Guinea. Equally South Africa, New Zealand, and Britain are determined to retain South-west Africa, Samoa, and Tanganyika. It appears that England and the dominions agreed on the subject, realising that it was strategically impossible for the dominions to return to the pre-war position in which a foreign Power was on their doorsteps.
