THE HOUSE OF COMMONS
PRACTICAL JOKER AT WORK FIRE BRIGADE CALLED OUT LONDON, June 16. Members of the House of Commons were discussing the Factories Bill when they were startled by the sound of fire bells. Two fire engines, a fire escape and a water tower dashed into the palace yard, and found there was no fire. Someone, presumably a practical joker, had rung up the brigade, stating that the House of Commons was on fire.
