LOCOMOTIVE CRASHES INTO SEA AT OAMARU The engine and truck which crashed down the foreshore at Oamaru when the section of the bank, on which spoil was being deposited, collapsed. The truck did not reach the sea, and was salvaged, but the engine has received a severe pounding by the waves.
