BRITISH TRADE RETURNS

THE INCREASES FOR MAY ] (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, June 15. (Received June 16, at 5.5 p.m.) The export of United Kingdom goods in May reached a value of £42,732,641, compared with £ 36,396,327 for the same month last year. Overseas trade returns for May also show a rise in the value of imports to £83,131,125 compared with £69,136,264 a year ago. For the first five months of 1937 the United Kingdom exports, at £206,857,743, show an increase of £31,005,153 over the same period of the previous year, while the imports were valued at £394,631,480, compared with £335,450,958 in the first five months of 1936. The values of re-exports in the two periods are lespectively £33,410,959 and £27,391,671.
