SUPPLIERS TAKE OVER
TRANSFER OF DAIRY FACTORY CO-OPERATIVE COMPANY FORMED (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, June 1. An important step in the transferring of a dairy enterprise in the South Auckland district from proprietary to fully co-operative interests took place to-day, when the Taupiri Dairy Company’s large modern butter factory on the bank of the Waikato River at Taukau formally entered into the possession of the P ranklin Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., which has been formed by the .suppliers of the factory to take over from the former owners.
Stocks were taken and valued to-day by two representatives of the Taupiri Company m conjunction with the provisional directors of the Co-operative Company, and the latter entered into possession. The first cream will be received on behalf of the Franklin Company to-morrow. The new company has been formed with a nominal capital of £25,000. The basis of the shareholding will be one £1 share for every 1501 b of butter-fat supplied to the factory.
