PLUNKET SOCIETY

TAIERI SUB-BRANCH The annual meeting of the Taieri sub-branch of the Plunket Society was presided over by Mrs A, F. Quolch There was a fair attendance. The annual report, the nurses’ report, and the balance sheet were read and adopted. The last-named showed a credit balance. Comment was made on me fact that so little interest was shown by the majority of the mothers, especially in the light of the groat benefit bestowed on the town by the visits of the district nurse. The election ot office-bearers resulted; —President, Mrs Quelch; vicepresidents. Mrs H. Graham and Mrs S. C Francis; secretary. Mrs Gillon; assistant secretary. Mrs Oliver: treasurer. Mrs Wyllie A committee of 18 members was elected. Owing to the lack of support, it was decided to discontinue the money-box system. Arrangements were made for the annual ball to be held on June 24. 14 was decided that a few old-time dances be included in the programme.
